He was a fighter during World War II and his strength continues today even at the age of 95. WMUR says Arthur Kamberis was apart of a military team that invated Okinawa 70 years ago and on Saturday, he used his battle skills to fight off a suspect, someone who wanted his wallet, in Manchester.

Reports say Kamberis had to use his cane to fight off the robber – and he won. Kamberis was heading out in his town to pick up a prescription for his wife when police say he was approached by an unknown man.

Kamberis spoke out to WMUR saying, “He was not aggressive. He didn’t lay his hands on me, other than he wanted to reach in this pocket to get the wallet.

He offered the man some change, but he wouldn’t take it – he wanted the actual wallet that held Kamberis’ license, credit card and cherished photos of his grandchildren.

“I hit him three or four times on the arm, and then, you know, what the cop told me, ‘You should have hit him on the head,” Kamberis said.

Well played, old timer.

Manchester Police is handling the case and they say a surveillance camera captured an image of an unknown suspect, pictured above.

Police warn although this turned out well for Kamberis, that others should just surrender their belongings because they can be replaced.
