Not only is an elderly man believed to have killed his wife, but he reportedly then entombed her head in concrete — and used the concrete block to drown himself in an Austrian lake.
Police official Gottfried Mitterlehner said the incident involved a 72-year-old man and his 71-year-old German wife. According to Yahoo! News, officials say the unidentified man was found weighed down in a lake, with one of his hands attached to a block of concrete inside a bag — which included his wife’s severed head.
Their remains were found in different bodies of water. In early January, the man’s body, and the woman’s head in the bag, were recovered by police divers in Traunsee. A day prior, her other remains were discovered floating in two suitcases in Gmunden.
