Some people think the Final Girl trope is reductive, while others celebrate every iteration that hits the screen. Some films crank out the same old tired formula, while others reinvent a staple that holds up the genre. But love it or hate it, you have to admit—we all have a favorite Final Girl.
A definitive trailblazer like Nancy Thompson or Laurie Strode? A complete game changer like Adelaide Wilson or Mia Allen? They're all incredible. But some of them are more relatable than others. Find out which bad-ass Final Girl you are based on your zodiac sign.

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Sidney Prescott—Scream
Star of the Scream franchise which began in 1996, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is both a classic and revolutionary final girl. Like an Aries, Sidney is a brave leader, facing the ever-present Ghostface threat head-on. This fire sign is determined, confident, and passionate—all traits that Sidney is bursting within her no-nonsense approach to taking down the killers. Like this sign of the Ram, Sidney can be impatient, especially when it comes to a psycho trying to play games. But at the end of the day, she's never going to run away from a physical challenge.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Laurie Strode—Halloween
Earth signs, like Taurus, are often considered to be a bit more reserved and straitlaced in general. As one of the foundational final girls, Halloween's Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) definitely fits into the neat, pure, and innocent box horror heroines were relegated to in the 70s and 80s. The sign of the Bull is thought to be reliable, practical, and devoted—all things that definitely make Laurie a great babysitter. But this sign is also known for being stubborn and uncompromising—traits which make her ideal for going up against the unrelenting cruelty of Michael Myers.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Mia Allen—Evil Dead
As the sign of the Twin, Geminis are best known for their dual nature. In the 2013 Evil Dead remake, Mia Allen (Jane Levy) spends half her time playing the role as the antagonist and half her time fighting the threat as a protagonist. Her dual nature goes beyond just battling demonic possession, however, as in her daily life she also struggles with overcoming drug addiction. At her core, Mia is also a deeply superstitious individual, relating back to Gemini's nervous tendencies. But, like this lovable air sign, by the end of the film, Mia proves to be highly... adaptable.
Cancer (June 22-July 22)
Grace Le Domas—Ready or Not
Ready Or Not's leading lady, Grace Le Domas (Samara Weaving) is a perfect example of a Cancer. This water sign has a strong pull toward family and home life, a security that Grace was craving at the start of the film. As things went south for her and she was hunted by her new family, she proved she had the creativity and tenacity of a Crab. And even when her life was falling apart around her, she still showed loyalty and compassion to those who, in the end, deserved it.

Leo (July 23-August 22)
Maxine Minx—X
Leos are fire signs that love to shine, drifting toward fun, creative endeavors that land them in the spotlight. Aspiring adult film star Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) of A24's X fits this description to a T. As she and her fellow filmmakers travel to a rental farmhouse in the middle of nowhere Texas, she's hoping this venture will give her the good life. By the end of it, she's lucky to have a life at all. Her survival is thanks to that Lion's attitude of strong-willed inflexibility.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)
Nancy Thompson—A Nightmare on Elm Street
A Nightmare on Elmstreet's Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) is another heroine that laid the blueprint for the final girl trope. Like Virgos, Nancy represents a lot of what is considered to be the "ideal feminine." She's soft, caring, and overwhelming innocent. However, like this sign of the Maiden, Nancy is also practical, hardworking, and a real force of nature. She takes the initiative to find out information on how to defeat Freddy, actualizes a plan, and steps out of her own personal nightmare triumphant. At least in the first film...

Libra (September 23-October 22)
Dani Ardor—Midsommar
As an air sign, Libras tend to be cooperative, go-with-the-flow individuals who avoid confrontation at all costs. Sometimes that can make them a bit of a doormat, like Dani Ardor (Florence Pugh) seems to be at the beginning of Midsommar. Her boyfriend takes her for granted, and when she tags along on his trip to a remote Swedish village, the emotional neglect only intensifies. But this sign of the Scales loves harmony and connection, which, in the case of Dani, makes Libras an unfortunately easy mark for cult recruitment. And trust me when I say this sign can hold a grudge.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
Kirsty Cotton—Hellraiser
Hellraiser's Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence) is an interesting blend of the vulnerable and the strong. Facing a thoroughly sadomasochistic threat, she's obviously in harm's way. Yet through her independence, wit, and grit, she proves to be a force to be reckoned with. Scorpios—the sign of the Scorpion—are much the same way. As a water sign, they have a soft, delicate center. But be careful, they can strike when you least expect it. Showcasing Scorpio's brave resourcefulness, Kirsty saved her skin (literally) by striking a cunning deal with the cenobites. And while this sign is often maligned for their mistrusting ways, it is Kirsty's mistrust of her stepmother that gives her the opportunity to fight for her soul.

Adelaide Wilson—Us
This fire sign will set their minds to something and get it done. Represented by the Archer, they have the bravery and wisdom of the sharpest warrior. In Us, Adelaide Wilson (Lupita Nyong'o) embodies this fiery spirit. She is not just a woman fighting to save her family from a haunting, doppelgänger threat. She is a woman who clawed her way out of a terrible situation at a young age and built the life she felt she deserved. Sagittariuses hate even the thought of being constrained, and total freedom is a necessity for them. Adelaide made a bold choice, and nothing was going to drag her back to the life she left behind.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
Erin Harson—You're Next
While some may call Capricorns know-it-alls, this sign of the Sea Goat is prepared for anything that comes their way. Erin Harson (Sharni Vinson) in You're Next exemplifies this perfectly. This earth sign is known for its disciplined, expecting-the-worst attitude. Erin, coming from a family of survivalists, is more than ready for the masked killers that invade her boyfriend's family reunion. And she does more than just survive—she takes these slashers down with clever boobytraps and well-honed skills of her own.
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
Ellen Ripley—Alien
Aquariuses are independent, bold risk-takers. What fits this description more aptly than pursuing a career as a warrant officer aboard a spaceship? In Alien, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is the soul survivor of a parasitic, acid-spewing alien conflict. From first contact, Ripley insists on following protocol, harkening to this air sign's uncompromising attitude. But when the situation turns deadly, she doesn't hesitate to throw everything she has at the extraterrestrial threat. Water Bearers are fighters through and through.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)
Julie James—I Know What You Did Last Summer
Ah, the martyrs of the zodiac. We love our Piscean friends because they're compassionate and gentle, and we feel the need to protect them because they're overly trusting, sad souls. A year after she and her friends cover up the accidental death of a fisherman, I Know What You Did Last Summer's Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is withdrawn and wracked with guilt. While her splintered group tries to move on with their lives, she can't seem to muster the same enthusiasm for leaving it all in the past. Neither can the killer that hunts them down, of course. As much as the sign of the Fish hates cruelty, they hate the past coming back to bite them even more.
