The first trailer for the long-anticipated sequel to 2017’s It just dropped, and Pennywise the Dancing Clown is ready to battle the Loser's Club once again. Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, It: Chapter Two tells the second half of the Club's story, as the now-grown group attempts to take down the shape-shifting clown for good.
The trailer opens 27 years after the events of the first It film, as adult Beverly Marsh (Jessica Chastain) walks through her old childhood home. Now owned by an old woman named Mrs. Kersh, Beverly is shocked to find remnants of her own life still around her. As the new owner makes tea, Beverly discovers a note that she received as a teen, written by Bill Denbrough–although Ben Hanscom actually composed said note. As Beverly reminisces about her childhood, it becomes clear that something is a bit off about Mrs. Kersh. For one thing, she seems to be... skittering around the house.

As Beverly sits down with Mrs. Kersh, the woman shares her theory that “no one really dies” in Derry—completely normal tea talk. But they continue to chat, Beverly notices that things are out of place, especially Mrs. Kersh’s gnarly wounds on her chest. Before she can nope right out of the house, Beverly stumbles upon an old photo that looks like Pennywise, further solidifying the fact she is definitely meant to be back home. After a careful, tense scene, the scares start here–and we're betting they won't stop until the movie's final scene.
Beverly isn't the only grown Loser we catch a glimpse of. As you may remember, Jessica Chastain was the target of a major fan campaign for casting as Beverly thanks to the eerie resemblance between her and Sophia Lillis (young Beverly). But each of the older Losers is just as perfectly cast, from James McAvoy to Isaiah Mustafa. Bill Skarsgård will also return to his role as Pennywise the Clown to make us all, yet again, feel very terrified if also slightly attracted to his horrifying visage.
